JOIN OUR ENSEMBLES!
Rise Up Chorus offers ensembles designed for everyone, no matter your level of experience or age. We rehearse in Central New Jersey, and we perform throughout the region. Our Youth Chorus serves the youth in our community in grades 3-8 and offers mentorship opportunities for high school aged students. Our Adult Chorus serves the adults and high school aged students (grades 9-12) in our community. Do yourself a favor: take a few minutes and learn about our ensembles below! (Note: all choruses rehearse in the Auditorium at St. Luke's in Metuchen, located at 17 Oak Ave, Metuchen, NJ 08840).
Youth Chorus (Grades 3-8)
The Youth Chorus rehearses on Friday afternoons from 5:00-6:30pm September through June (with major concert performances as well as other performances and events throughout the season) and is open to singers in grades 3-8. The Youth Chorus focuses on high-quality, diverse repertoire that spans all styles and time periods that are most appropriate for the age group. Focus of rehearsals will be on vocal technique, ear training (aural skills), movement and folk dance, reading music, and ensemble balance.

Adult Chorus (adults and high school aged students)
The Adult Chorus rehearse on Friday evenings from 7:00-8:45pm in three sessions, with each session culminating in a major performance. Adults may join us for all three, just two, or even only one session; however, we ask that singers commit to the entire session. The Adult Chorus focuses on high-quality, diverse repertoire that spans all styles and time periods. Both octavos and major works will be explored and performed. Other performances and events will also be held throughout the season. Focus of rehearsals will be on vocal technique, ear training (aural skills), movement, reading music, and ensemble balance.
